Eddie Pockey
Eddie Pockey is a native Marylander and has played in the Washington Metropolitan Area since 1987. Although he has performed in Key West, New Jersey, West Virginia, Maryland (and even Nashville by chance), you can most often find him find him at his favorite local establishment - Pistone's Italian Inn, in Falls Church, VA, where he plays every Wednesday and Friday. His musical inspirations range from Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, and George Jones to John Fogerty, Louvin Brothers and Charlie Waller.
Eddie plays solo or, in some cases as a duo (usually with either Brint Hannay or Geff King). The full band (all four members that play with Eddie) are known as “Eddie Pockey and the Duffmasters”. You can see the Duffmasters in larger venues such as The Electric Palm, (located in Occoquan, Virginia).
His musical capabilities go beyond classic country and include a multitude of styles such as Tex-Mex, Bluegrass, Cajun Honky Tonk and even some classic rock tunes upon request. (Some fans rave about his rendition of a few John Fogerty tunes).
"My band has great vocals harmonies as well as one of the best steel guitar players in the area. (Brint Hannay). We have the capability of singing more than 500 songs and I am known as the “human jukebox”. My fellow musicians have nicknamed me “The Voice” because of my vocal range. Our shows are special as our audience can see three or four of them and never hear the same song twice. We don’t use a set list. Fans just call out songs as the night moves on - keeping the show as spontaneous as possible."
While most live country musicians tend to be repetitive with their list of most requested songs, Eddie's shows keep the audience interested as he always throws in a few great tunes that people seldom hear on radio stations or in other live country music performances.
